Every year Deloitte commits to investing in the community by providing a helping hand to numerous non-profit organizations. They call this year-round celebration ‘Impact Day’. On this day many Deloitte members deliver lessons on business ethics, host skills-building workshops, and offer skills-development programs. We are immensely grateful to Derek for once again bringing a team of excited volunteers to contribute their skills and efforts to the Foundation Fighting Blindness.
Each of the volunteers contributed their unique skill set to various tasks assigned throughout the day. Here’s just some of what they did!
Michelle and Devangini spent the day using their creativity to assist with helping organize event collateral and way that we could promote items in a tangible way. Michelle described her volunteer experience as, “fun working at a very green environment “. Devangini had similar thoughts as she stated “I did not expect to see the great level of structure within the organization. I had fun while understanding how FFB functions on a day-to-day basis.”
Vivian, Edwardo and Diane enjoyed thanking donors as part of our donor program. Diane, who happens to be a second time volunteer said, “It was rewarding getting concrete work done that matters”.
Ryan volunteered to help as part of the team to coordinate a communications piece to was distributed to a number of past event supporters. At the end of the day he happily said, “You get to appreciate the numbers when you process mail manually. It is great hand on experience”.
Many of the Deloitte volunteers expressed interest in coming back next year to contribute and support the cause. We are very thankful to each of the volunteers for taking out time to help support a future without blindness!
